Project Brief

Alto’s Odyssey is an award winning endless sandboarding game set in a vast desert world. This case study is a concept redesign of the official marketing website, focused on creating a high impact landing experience that communicates the game’s atmosphere in seconds, drives store visits, and supports press with a clear press kit path.

Problem Statement

A game website has one job: turn curiosity into confidence fast. For Alto’s Odyssey, the experience needed to feel cinematic and premium, stay lightweight on mobile, and guide three audiences without friction: players who want to download, fans who want to explore, and press who need assets and facts quickly.

Problem 1

The product promise must be understood instantly, players need to feel the desert atmosphere and core gameplay within the first screen.

Problem 2

Conversion can drop if platform options are unclear, the site must make downloading on iOS and Android feel like a one step decision.

Problem 3

Press and creators need fast access to official descriptions, screenshots, and media assets, otherwise coverage becomes harder and slower.

Solution

The redesign is built around a simple landing narrative: feel the world, understand the game, then download or explore more. The UI uses strong visual hierarchy, minimal choices per section, and repeated calls to action so users never have to hunt for the next step.

Solution 1

A clean hero that prioritizes trailer and mood, supported by short credibility cues so the product value is clear immediately.

Solution 2

Clear iOS and Android actions with consistent placement across the page to reduce scroll friction and decision fatigue.

Solution 3

A dedicated press path that surfaces the press kit content quickly, so media assets and key facts are accessible without extra navigation.
